Our design:
I have re-written our first design as I revised it on the same page. The revised design is now linked in the allocated table. We were going to initially use quadrats placed at a distance > 20m in the same vertical axis. We would have taken a sample from the woodland, the grass and the shrub at a fixed vertical distance.
However, instead of using quadrats we count the snails obtained in those particular areas.
The distance of 20m between sample collection would eradicate gene flow. There would be replication twice.. While the horizontal conditions could be considered similar, the vertical conditions would vary.
